Madrid hosts the 2026 Open de España this week as the DP World Tour moves from Scotland to Spain. The tournament is set to begin on Thursday, October 8 and run through Sunday, October 11 at Real Club de Campo Villa de Madrid, with a total purse of $3.75 million on the line.
The event follows Adrian Meronk‘s victory at the 2026 Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, where he closed with a 68 at St. Andrews to finish at 20-under and win by two strokes. Meronk is back in the field this week at +5000 at Hard Rock Bet Sportsbook, looking to make it two wins in a row.
Åberg and Rahm Headline a Loaded Field
This week’s field is star-studded at the top. Ludvig Åberg is listed as the favorite at +800, followed closely by three-time Open de España winner Jon Rahm at +850.
Rahm has won this event three times, claiming the title in 2018, 2019 and 2022. He also finished as the runner-up in 2024 after falling to Ángel Hidalgo (+6000 this week) in a playoff.
Shane Lowry (+1750) has the next-shortest odds behind Åberg and Rahm, with Eugenio Chacarra and Patrick Reed following him at +2250.
Penge Returns to Defend His Title
Marco Penge (+3000) won last year’s tournament at 15-under, defeating Daniel Brown with a birdie on the first playoff hole. Brown is also back in the field this week, listed at +7500 to win it all at Hard Rock Bet.
Beyond Penge, Rahm and Hidalgo, the field includes former champions Rafa Cabrera-Bello (+15000), Francesco Molinari (+20000), Thomas Aiken (+100000) and James Morrison (+250000).
